Does this work on scanned PDFs?

Best results come from PDFs that already contain a text layer. Pure image scans need OCR first.

Are tables preserved?

Yes. The table-aware mode reconstructs rows and columns as markdown tables.

Multi-column PDFs are handled in reading order. Complex magazine layouts may need manual cleanup.
